About Dr. La Tonya Harrris
I am a developmental psychologist/social scientist with extensive experience
using data to improve programs and outcomes for children and youth.
I have led research, evaluation, and data‑driven initiatives across UC’s
Cooperative Extension (4-H), K–12 school districts, and in state
departments. I am a manager in a state program focused on strengthening
services for children and youth with developmental disabilities.
I am a proud product of public education! I have attended public schools
from kindergarten through grade 12, and received my Bachelor’s and
Doctorate degrees from UC Berkeley and UC Davis.
My personal life reflects my deep commitment to young people. I have been
a foster parent, I serve as a youth program advisor and mentor, and I have
supported my nieces, nephew--and I currently support my goddaughter --
through their life journeys.
